What we do:
Academic Resource is open to all students for in person support. We strongly encourage all students who require additional support to come see us in Academic Resource (room 321).
A few ways we can support student success include: chunking assignments, organizational help, research support, guided brainstorming, instruction in a small group setting, Zen Den (anxiety), and extra support to help close the gaps (especially in English and Math).
Academic Resource works with the classroom teachers to ensure accommodations are in place. Students are encouraged to speak to their classroom teachers to access Academic Resource (room 321). If you feel there is something more the Special Education staff can do to help you, please contact us.
Individual Education Plan (IEP):
- IEPs were sent out in October to address 1 on file. IEPs are working documents so they can be changed at any time.
- IPRCs are meetings done annually in the Spring where the team reviews the student's strengths and needs, as well as their placement and exceptionality. Information will be sent home via a phone message/email, which allows you to book an appointment if you would like to attend.
- If your child has new documentation of a new exceptionality, please let us know and we will arrange for another IPRC.
- If you feel your child's accommodations are not being met, please discuss with the classroom teacher, and/or reach out to Ms. Watson or Ms. Rowden (contacts below).
