Parent Engagement

Durham District School Board (DDSB) recognizes the importance of partnerships with parents and guardians in creating positive learning environments. The School Community Council (SCC) is an advisory body that makes recommendations to the Principal and school board to further student achievement and well-being. Every school in the DDSB has an SCC. The SCC is made up of parents, school staff and community members and should represent the diversity of the school community.

O’Neill CVI School Community Council

The School Community Council (SCC) supports student achievement and well-being through an advisory role with the school principal.  SCC also supports parent engagement and communication between home and school.  More information can be found at School Community Councils

Parents/Guardians can stay up to date with their school by subscribing to the news and alerts feed. (Subscribing to Receive News from Your Home School) and following our social media accounts: Instagram - @oneillcvioshawa and Twitter - @ONeillCVIOshawa.

Membership on our School Community Council provides parents/guardians the opportunity to be an active participant in the evolution and improvement of O’Neill CVI. Your input and guidance is a valuable resource to support our ongoing needs of our community. By forging strong links between home and school, we can work together to ensure positive and successful learning experiences for our students.

Any potential agenda items may be sent to our SCC account at scc201@scc.ddsb.ca and they will be forwarded to our Chair and Ms. Running, Principal.

All parents/guardians are welcome to join our meetings listed below. All meetings will be in-person at 6:30pm in the OCVI library.
